1st Service

Hey! I've got my 1st service coming up soon, and was wondering if there is anything i should specifically ask them not to do - i.e meaningless stuff that will up the total cost?

Also, ive noticed that my t-sport alloys look as though they are beginning to rust/corrode at the outer edge. Is this covered in the warranty? Surely it should not be happening in alloys less than a year old, if at all?

Thanks B)

Windscreen washer fluid! Just say no!

Here's a thread I posted about my 1st service in December and what to expect.... hopefully it'll answer some of your questions...

Thanks folks!

So should i get them to look at the alloys and tell them i know its a common fault? I'll be taking the car in on my own aswell, so they might try and fob me off since im a young woman.

Just mention to them that the alloys have surface corrosion when you drop it off. They are bound to be aware its a common problem and should order you a set in to swap them for you.

My cars out of warranty next month, but because they have just fitted a new set I have a 12 month warranty on the wheels -am sure am going to be having a new set before then as the last set only managed about 9 months!

Hello, my 1st service (March this year) was £85.69 inclusive of VAT. When I took the car in I asked them not to bother with the screenwash as I had a 2 litre bottle of the stuff in the boot!

Prices do vary but it should be around £80-90. Ask first what the service will entail and how much it will cost. They should also go through the service sheet with you after it has been completed. Hope that helps.

As far as the alloys are concerned, I'd phone them before the service if possible but they won't do anything until they've seen them. They'll probably get some in and fit them at a later date.
