Mk3 Yaris Rattle

Right well my 2 month old Yaris has a Rattle, it's been to Mr T today to be looked at, great i thought.... maybe not;

I went to pick her up and well basically they claimed the rattle had been fixed, great I thought, and the Rear View mirror had been bodged to stop it vibrating! (They put a rubber washer between my Dart Tag and the mirror support - anyone with the same problem - a vibration at 70mph - Toyota know and they are working on a fix).

I gave them their 1.0l Hair dryer back, no offence to anyone who's got one, but compared to the D4D its rubbish, and headed back down the road...

I had done about 5 or 6 miles before the whole roof lining started to vibrate and rattle, I needed to get home, so i got home and when getting out of the car i noticed that there are black oily feet marks on my mats, and that there are black oily finger marks over the door pannels. This was the final straw, i rang the garage and flipped, they are having it back tomorrow to look at again, and they are going to Valet it, (I may add that was my suggestion and not their offering). The guy i bought it off was great, he's sorting it all out, but servicing are just plain rubbish.

My previous experiences with Totota over the past 5 years have been good, but this was taking it too far!

Rant over....

The world famous Toyota rattle.... character trait nowadays.... :lol:

Just watch that they valet properly - a few places offer a valet and then either do it half-heartedly or not at all... :unsure:

Yep ...... when I serviced my car they missed the middle of the roof and the inside had just a quick going over.

It would have been okay if it was free - but it wasn't :ffs:

But at least we know the the new yaris has something from the older yaris :P

Might be a silly post but I had an annoying rattle and after looking round the inside of the car it was the jack and stuff under the passenger seat. Just an idea to check this isn't causing it!

Well here goes:

Went and picked it up this evening, the bad news is it has to go back, the even worse news is its more than likley going to end up in a modification for new yaris'. The door basically vibrates against the door seal, which causes a rapid brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound all the time. Not all the Yaris' do it, but Toyota UK are on the case.

If in a month I don't get a reponse from TGB then they will replace the door seals and see if that improves it.

In the meantime i have two long lengths of felt stuck along my doors where it meets the seal!

Inside was clean as well! Smells nice too :)
