Just thought I would introduce myself  !

Not new to the site but new to the Corolla section as I have just traded in my 01' Silver Yaris 1.3 SR for a 04' Black Corolla TSpirit 2.0l D4-d with the optional leather seats

Im getting it from my local-ish dealer in Leicester and picking it up on saturday if all goes well ..... I must say that I'm quite looking forward to it

Is it true that all the diesel models come with out front fog lights or is the dealer just trying to blag me  ? But if so how have you guys got around it? Is it an easy job?

I'm also the look for a spoiler as the back feels that it's missing something .......

and finally G6-R - your Corolla looks god dam sexy

Thank you that you LIKE my Rolla B)

I thought that every D4D had no Foglights because the Intercooler gets his air from the lefthandside where by the petrolversion the foglights sits in the frontbumper

Ohwell it sounds true ...... it just looks like I shall have to spend my money on something else ;)

I guess it means that I'm stuck with the stock front bumper (really wanted the TTE one) unless I can relocate the air vent

Bah Diesel Power ?!?! lol

Just a rear spoiler it is then :P

*Well for now lol

Make sure you get some photos up of your D4D asap mate!

I have been trying but the weather is being a right :censor: !

However I have had to take it back to the dealers to get the door strips replaced as they have corroded (I didn't notice it when I got it - I will take some pictures of it later). The bloke said it was the second car he had seen today with the same problem ...... so that's getting sorted soon  !

I also got some new mat's (£42.34) and the coat hanger (£23) today. I also got the prices for the other bits and pieces which I have added for future reference:

Aero Roof Spoiler= £178 (£120 paint/£54 fitting)

bluetooth Kit= £242.46 (£49.93 fitting)

Scuff Plates= £106.18 (£18.58 fitting) ONLY for two :!Removed!:

Cargo Net Vertical= £37.19 (£8.50 fitting)

Cargo Net Horizontal= £50.51 (£6.32 fitting)

Rear Chrome Garnish= £88.79 (£15.98 fitting)

*I guess most of it can be fitted by yourself

**Some of those prices are shocking

Overall I am very happy with the car ...... it's very chilling B) !

I had the T Sport spoiler fitted to mine when I bought it, pictured below... It cost me....argh, I can't remember now....think it was between £300 and £400 including painting and fitting, but was well worth it imo.

That TTE bumper is sexy enough to get away without having foglights - just mesh the holes with black plastic mesh to get lovely cold air to your intercooler!

No offence to anyone who has the Toyota Aero spoiler, but the TTE one is much MUCH nicer! The Aero one looks a bit too curvy or droopy or something like that!

I've seen most of those parts on eBay at some stage or another from official Toyota Parts Departments too, so wait and see and you'll save a fortune!!! Go to this eBay link and then click on 'See seller's other items' I've bought two sets of T Sport mats, TTE lowering springs and the TTE rear exhaust box from him at excellent prices (less than half price)!

Another few quick questions folks  !

Today I had to turn on my rear heated window and I started to get interference with my radio station ..... It wasn't really bad but just made it a little fuzzy, I turned it off and it went back to normal.

Is that a corolla thing?

I'll keep an eye on it, but it just might be the bad weather we are having, however it worked fine when it was off

And also does the rear heated window have a timer on it or do I have to turn it off?

Cheers Folks

[Edit] Also - anybody uprated there Speakers? [/Edit]

I've never noticed any interference with the radio. On the heater timer front... it is timed - stays on quite a long time. Also when you switch the car off, say at the petrol station, and when you get back in and start up again, the switch will be reset.

Davesr,

I suggest you have a very close look at the wires for the window heater.

If one or more are broken or even scratched they can cause electrical interference.

I had this on my Carina. Repainted with the proper repair paint from Halfrauds and the problem went away.

Well today it stopped raining and I decided to give the inside a good clean - including treating the leather seats. I also took some pictures of the outside just in case you forgot what a Corolla looked like ;) :

The inside came up a gem using Autoglym products (No I don't work for them ;) ).

There was some marks on the leather seats and they came off with ease with the leather cleaning kit. I also bought the leather conditioner and it brought them back to looking brand new. They had changed colour from gray to black which you can see in the photo ..... thank god it only has to be done twice a year

I also brought the vinal/plastic trim cleaner and again it brought the dash back to life. It's supposed to be dust resistance and helps to stop the sun fading the plastic. It also has a nice fragrant which makes the car smell nice.

It took me a good while to get the car '!Removed! and spam' on the inside (yeah I used the autoglym glass cleaner too - helps stop the car misting up), hence not being able to clean the outside

But that shall wait for another day ...... anyway I hope that you like the photos and my clean car on the inside
