You've also got to consider fuel consumption if the speed limit was raised anymore on motorways. Yes modern cars are comfortable at 80 or 90 but fuel consumption goes through the roof. Not good considering the new "green government" policies being tossed around.

I know my company car would get another 200 miles out of a tank if I actually did 70 on the motorway! Remember the amount of tax you pay every time you fill up.
