Trip To Toyota!

Me and my brother went a trip to Toyota today to order the fascia surround thing for the headunit. We gave the guy the part number and he went away and looked it up on his computer and came back and said it was described as a 'Safety Pad Insert'! Me and my brother looked at each and thought he must have got it wrong. Anyway, we ordered the part and if it's wrong the guy said he'll return it!

Has anyone else had it described as a 'Safety Pad Insert'?

no

but if you asked he could show you a diagram on the computer of what it was like, when I ordered mine there was three on the screen, the standard cd player fascia, the standard tape player fascia and the one you want, I believe it's a double din unit.

That could be wrong, sure you have the right part number or that he typed it in right?

I remember when I ordered it the guy read it out and the bit he asked me if I was sure about was that it said double - din.

How much did it cost anyway? Mine was £38 ish? I imagine it would be similar to that price if it was the right thing?

Don't be too alarmed, Toyota can be very poo with description, for example a Fan Belt sometimes comes up on system as a Radiator Hose

took the guy at the old toyota 25mins to find 't-sport side skirts' on the system, which eventually came up under 'mud flaps'

Further destruction of the English language. Shameful! :ffs: ;)

Ryan, how much did it cost out of interest? Was thinking about buying one soon.

I'm not paying them anything until I know it's the right thing. It's apparently about £38 though!

They do leave a lot to be desired on descriptions on the EPC, and the layout on some of the items on there are so poor.

But as said, you get used to them.
