Thanks for the comments chaps!

Car is totally standard, only thing I've done is take the restrictive airbox feed out :D

First time on the track with the TSport, so was taking it easy into the corners, as I didnt know how the brakes would hold up. Next time I will push it a bit harder :)

Really enjoyed it, so much so, that I went out for a 2nd session in the afternoon! :D

Cool video!! How is the standard T-Sport handling/cornering ???

I uploaded a short clip myself.. nothing much.. thru a tunnel with open windows..

Through the corner, the back is stuck to the road thanks to the solid rear axle, trouble is the springs/dampers are too soft and it induces too much body roll.

If they were stiffer, I would have been able to push through the corner harder, as I was having to back off and try and get my line in as best as I could with the traffic.

Enjoyed the vid

I took my CTS on track at Bruntingthorpe the other day, and in lots of ways it is a pretty fun track car especially for the novice. Like on the road, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to stack it and it's never going to give you any nasty surprises.

Mine has TTE lowering springs and stock Bridgestone tyres, which really are better off on the road. I found fast corners were pretty good, but I just couldn't get the nose in fast enough on the chicanes without scrubbing a lot of rubber.

The stability is good for your confidence, but it just needs to be a bit less understeery to get round the sharp bends quickly.

Paul.

What drop are the springs Paul and did they firm the ride up at all?

Would love to give Brunters a go, but think I may end up doing donny before as it's only just up the road...

:D

These lower the stock phase one car about 35mm, maybe a little more after thay have settled. The phase two car is lower to begin with, so they don't lower that one quite so much.

They make the ride a little firmer but not much really, as you still have the stock dampers. Turn-in is a bit better, but I think really for the track you would need to look at springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, wheels and tyres to get something handling very well.

Visually the effect of the TTE springs is surprisingly good, so still worthwhile :D

Cool. Thanks for this Paul. Did/do they affect the warranty at all? Trouble is, the rolla is a daily driver for the missus, so needs the benefit of warranty/loan car should anything go wrong.

That said, she's looking to get a company car soon...Could be time to do a bit of 'garden tuning' :D

TTE parts didn't affect the warranty or even the insurance. I'm with Direct Line, just said they were dealer-fitted Toyota parts and that was that.

I assume it's for both, as at that point, I didnt have it turned off.

I believe that even with it off, it's not 100% off :(

To be honest, I dont know where it comes from apart from behind the dash!

If i were you, I would leave it alone, as it does my head in!! I would rather disable it...

Can be quite difficult to hear the beeps over the engine or tyre noise sometimes.
