Most Toyota services go big then small, the first 12K is a small, then 24K is a big, 60 K is a small ,so that's basically a small service, oil and filter change, then check everything else.. visually check brakes, check filters, check steering and suspension, check and adjust tyre pressures etc.

As to a list of items ,it will be in your service ( if you have one )

I've checked in my Service Record (cheers Bob :) )

Sadly (first time ever IIRC) on this occasion it looks like you're wrong :crybaby:

60,000 miles or 6 years is a big service and there's a hell of a list of things to be checked including a fair list of things to be replaced :( .

I was wondering whether to go to an independent garage but as it's mainly my wife's car now and she does a fair bit of motorway driving I think I'd feel happier (if poorer) letting Toyota do it

Your dead right, i put my hands up  ,i looked up a 60,000 km service not a 60 ,000 mile service....sorry  :D .

72 month service (i'm working off a AUTODATA service schedule )

Raeplacment parts........

Oil and Filter,Air Filter, Charcoal filter, Remote control batteries.

...And looking in my RAV4's service book, they have listed spark plug platinum or Iridium type, brake fluid every two years, valve clearance (audible inspection  ).

The book time for a 72 month service is 2.60 hours, plus parts and Toyota labour charges, so could be a big bill at a dealership ;) .

Do they not also check the Cam Belt at this service.... Or is this different between a D4D and Petrol...

You can also change the pollen filter but get this part yourself.. (I;ve mislayed the web linf to the stockist ££££ cheaper than Mr T) :D
