Sony Wx-c570r No Volume

Hi to everyone, Just joined as I found this forum whilst trying to sort out my Avensis 2.0 CDX Stereo problem.

Can anyone help? I have had my Avensis (98R) for 3 yrs now and love it to bits but have got to sell it as I need an Automatic due to health reasons.

Got a Previa now. (look, some has to own one!)

The Avensis has been stuck on my drive now for over 6 months and it has to go (reluctantly).

The only thing is the Cd/Radio has stopped producing sound or volume?

Everything works OK, lights and displays on, tuning stations Ok, CD insert etc but no sound comes out of any speaker (not even a crackle).

Was working last time I drove it, but now nothing!

The Battery had to be charged up so could this be a factor?

Does it have a code I need to enter to get sound?

Have tried reset and other things that the manual says but still no sound!

Could it be connected to the Alarm/Imobilisor? As this it playing up with no central locking and hazards flash etc.

The alarm thing is an ongoing problem and has happened before, so I have to take it to a garage to have it reset, (costs about £30 a time) but this time it only worked for a day so will wait till I sell it then have it reset for the new buyer if they want.

But its the CD Radio I would like to get sorted first before I can sell it.

Anyone come across this sound problem before on this model? (Sony WX-C570R).

Tried to remove the unit but cannot work out how it comes out.

Any help would be appreciated but I am not a wizz when it comes to thing complicated.
