Hello, everybody. I am thinking to get an Aygo and I wonder if it can take a rear bike rack? Has anybody tried it?

Could I also ask that what do you think to have an Aygo as a family car ... we have got a 6-year old boy.

Don't know if it's possible to mount a bike rack on the rear of the car, however there is a bicycle holder that you can mount to a Roof Rack for the Aygo. Here is a link

as a family car i would say avoid at all costs, although im only 18 and don;t have a family. i do remember when i was 6 and the amount of stuff i required to have lugged around with me, such as dinosaurs, toy trucks and lots lego. which given the aygo's limited space could be an issue.

but if its going to be used more as a 'we'll take the boy out for a bike ride on saturday car' then it could work.

Bikes go on the roof bars, though I sent mine back, have a carbon fibre bike frame and the attachments clamp round bike frame, so looking for front fork attachment to roof bars at the moment.

You will have diffuculty fitting a six year old boy in the boot of an Aygo  , though some have split folding back seats, BUT the car is great fun.

Not as economical as the government figures suggest 50-56mpg a realistic target as long as you stick to below 70mph.

Have you thought about something like a used diesel Yaris, Honda Jazz? Or something similar?

Also friends kids get put in the back of mine, so I went for the Peugoet 107(same car different cosmetics) rather than the Aygo because you can get curtain airbags for £200 extra before discount. Don't know why Toyota don't offer them.

cheers
