Alarm Or No Alarm ?

I have recently purchased a Corolla T Sport 52 plate, very pleased with the car but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem regarding the alarm ? The car has the stickers saying it has one and I have the deadlocks by pressing the button twice but no alarm when I open the doors or put my head in with the windows down !! Can't see any sensors inside for the ultrasonics either anyone else have one of these that could give us some help, I've followed the handbook but to no avail.

Cheers

If you double click to set the double locking, it turns off the interior radar.

It is in the book, but I had to read the bit on the alarm several times to fully understand what was happening

Right so if I put the deadlocks on it knocks off the interior radar  how daft is that :D anyway I'll give it a try tonight I have been double locking it to be honest

I think it is so you can leave your dog in the car without it setting the alarm off. The alarm will still sound if somebody tries to force one of the doors.

I usually leave it deadlocked on the grounds that a thief would have to damage the doors to get in, rather than try any tricks with a coat hanger etc.

Lock the door with the bleeper (one or two presses) then open the car with the key and try to start it.

If you lock the car with the blipper and then try and open it with the key, the alarm should sound.

If not, then your alarm is broken and you should probably get it checked out. You don't want your insurance company trying to get out of paying up in the unfortunate event of your car being stolen with the alarm not working.

Shrum,

Just opening the car with the key will not set the alarm off, u need to get in then try to start the engine as well.

Tried that and it just started  thought the key might be the immobiliser chip type anyway so it would start I suppose  Plips both work deadlocks work fine just no sign of an alarm do they all have one as standard ??

Shrum - afaik they always came as standard, is it possible you have an import model? I dont know about the t-sport specs from other countries but for example if you buy a clio 172import it does not come with locking wheel nuts or an alarm.
