Hey there =OP

I think there's already a few posts in here relating to cleaning that yellow off the headlights but... I've managed to get my plastic, once yellow, all scratched up headlights looking almost as if they have new GLASS covers on them..!

First, I cleaned off the yellow using bicarbonate of soda and a nylon scourer, this worked a treat for removing the yellow with ease (and bicarb won't damage the paintwork or mark the bumpers ;o)

However, once clean and dry, I noticed that the covers still looked pretty dim as the surface is covered in thousands of tiny scours and scratches, no doubt from all of the scrubbing to remove successive layers of yellow! So, I applied some "Crystal-Disc" CD repair fluid with a soft cloth and the results were staggering! Even after a single application the lights looked like new, the fluid fills in the scratches and makes the covers properly transparent again, after 3 successive applications my lights look like they have expensive after market glass covers on them AND I'm pretty sure that there will be NO MORE YELLOW as the surface matterial which was reacting with air / light or whatever and oxidizing to yellow is now covered by the Crystal-Disk polymer!!!

Of course, I used masking tape on the areas around the lights so that I could be liberal in my application and not worry about fouling the paint work or leaving shiny patches on the bumper, I'm not sure exactly how long / hard wearing the Crystal-Disk polymer will be but it is very quick and easy to apply (no laborious buffing needed as with abrasives such as Brasso) and the results are incredible.
