Tom Tom One

Couple of niggles on my Tom Tom - I think the answer to both of these will be 'no' but worth a try -

1. I am spending a lot of time around a village called 'Caldecote' near Cambridge but the Tom Tom has it as Cladecote, anyway of changing this spelling mistake ?

2. My local Junction of the M25 (J25) is now closed for the next 18 months - is there any way of telling Tom Tom not to create routes that use this junction ?

I think you should contact the manufacturers over the mispelling of CALDECOTE.

Incidently have you tried CALDECOTE in Northamtonshire or CALDECOTE in Hertfordshire to see if it misspells those two locations?

Regarding the M25 Junction my Garmin unit allows me to set up a route avoiding locations of choice...........is there nothing in your Tom Tom instruction manual that shows you about this?..........perhaps you will have to contact the manufacturers

Tom Tom Mobile has a Find Alternative option(with sub options) maybe there is a same thing on the Tom Tom One

not alot you can do about the first one other than write to Tom Tom or Teleatlas who does the mapping for Tom Tom

As for the finding alterative route thats simple plot in your destination wait for it to calculate and tap done then go onto the menu "find alternative" then tap "Avoid part of route" then tap the part you want to avoid job done.

If I go find alternative I can only choose the whole of the journey part of the M25 and can not specify to just avoid 1 junction.

For example if I want to go from my house and jouney M25 J25 to J18 I would drive back routes I know to get to J24 knowing that J25 is closed and then join M25 there - however Tom Tom will only let me select the whole of the M25 part (J25 - 18) to avoid not just a part of it.

I can get round it by setting a way point at J24 and it's not the end of the world just a bit annoying - the biggest pain is when hitting the 'home' option as regardless of where I am the Tom Tom will almost inevitably take me to the M25 to get home as I live so close to it and then by default it tells me to exit at J25 which I can't do for the next 18 months !
