Servicing - A Few Small Questions.....

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to service my Corolla this weekend. (2002 new shape T3 5 door hatchback)

Here's what i plan to do:

-oil change

-air & AC filter change

-change spark plugs

-rotate wheels

-check all levels & lights

-tighten handbrake

Just a couple of questions:

1) How do I tighten the handbrake?

2) How do i access the spark plugs? Do you need to remove the big plastic engine cover thing. (I haven't looked at it in too much detail. Any help would be appreicated!)

If anyone has any other tips/advice, please post them too!

Thank you in advance for any replies!

To replace the spark plugs (due every 40k service) you'll need to remove the plastic engine top cover. A ratchet, extension and spark plug socket will be needed to remove plugs. To adjust handbrake, remove rear wheels and the rubber grommets in the disc hub. Turn the star cog inside the hub til the disc locks up then back it off til disc turns. The a/c pollen filter lives behind the glovebox. Remove or drop the glovebox down and remove the black poolen filter panel.

Thanks a million for that!

Unfortunately, I wont be servicing it this weekend - I was rear ended yesterday morning (and shunted into the car in front). There's not much damage (rear bumper+bumber bar need replacing & front bumper respray), but I think I'll wait til it's all fixed up!
