Welcome to TOC ;)

Nice car  but it looks a bit high now on those wheels  You planning to lower it at all?

To add pics in the post use the button with a picture of a tree on it :)

i've seen some springs that lower around 40mm, which sounds quite a lot.... anyone any recommendations on how far to lower it?

What sort of paint did you use on the rims?

I have a few scuffs on mine (not my driving) so i'm thinking of doing the same. My GT is black so black rims would look great but i'm swaying towards white.

This might be a cheaper solution for me untill i can afford some new wheels and tyres.

Black on black tends to make them look small IMO, better off with white or silver.

Used hammerite special metals primer, then 4 coats of colour, 4 coats of laquer. They're not black by the way, they're metallic dark grey graphitey colour when the sun is on them, which is never!

Nice wheels, should look real nice in the sun by the sounds of it (if summer ever comes).

If you live in an area that is speed-bump crazy, I wouldn't lower it as much as 40, it can cause an issue with the speed-bumps if you have more than just yourself in the car - trust me. I'd lower it just a little less. 30 - 35 would still look good and wont risk you loosing the underside of your car.

Thanks Manpibian, I'll have a go at it too.

Springs I agree with the post above. 30-5mm would be ample i would think and that's what i'm going to go for.

I have a lots of speed humps getting out to the main dual carriage way near me so i think i'd rather not risk the scrapes and the speed to get over the bumps will suck

White wheels need to be at least 17's to look good. Adams are very nice but to be honest I dont think white wheels go that well with a Silver car IMHO Anthracite all the way!

40 Drop is a bit extreme so unless you have freshly tarmac'd roads Id say 30 is plenty enough to make a difference to looks and performance.
