Autocar Hatchback Group Test

Don't know if any of you have read this yeat, but Autocar took four moderately high spec, 1.4 petrol (okay, so 1.3 in the Yaris's case) from London to Paris including a "fun" lap of the Peripherique and cruise down the Champs Elysée.

Basically, their appraisal of the new Yaris was:-

Good:-

Comfort

Space

Nippyness

Dashboard design

Bad:-

Noise

Interior Plastics

That actually commented that the Yarsi was far more enjoyably - in the cut 'n' thrust of city driving than any of the others and that it actually felt more "French" than the French cars.

So which one won? Well, the best one. Of course ;)

Is that a good thing? Or a dig that it's made in France so all the trim falls off?

Meh, stuff keeps falling off my supposedly Japanese built P1!!

Could just be my speed over speed bumps / my rather ragged style of driving.

Who knows!

New Yaris looks nice, I might graduate to something slightly bigger by the time I get my next car tho'!

I would agree with the dash design bit - Yaris dash totally owns every other small hatchback's dash!

Space is also awesome - compared to a Micra where I could touch all four corners of the car from the drivers seat...
