I remeber the Aygo manual recommend the tires be rotated every 5000 miles. The question is how can this be done with alloy wheels? The spare tires are on steels and the only options I can think of are

1) Use the steel wheel and look ugly for the next 5000 miles :( .

2) Remove the tire from the steel rim and put it on one of the alloys (can this be done easily?) or

3) Ignore thre recommendation.

Also when I take my car for service, will Mr T rotate the tires?

Are your tyres uni-directional .. if so just swap the fronts for rears.

If they are bi-directional, swap over the diagonal.

Leave the spare alone.

Yes, Just rotate front to back. You can do it by using the spare and your regular jack.

You should only need to do this if you want to replace all 4 at once. You could leave the rears on until the fronts are goosed. Buy new ones, get them put on the front and the new ones on the rear. Rears on a small FWD car can last forever, at least until the rubber perishes and the sidewalls start to weaken.

Every 5k miles seems OTT in my opinion.
