Wheel Squeak

Hi All,

My Yaris Blue has now done 13,000 miles and all is fine except it appears that the front driverside wheel is squeaking..it's worst at around the 25-30mph mark when the wheel is turned at a left angle..it's not just a little squeak, it lasts for around 3-4 seconds and you can hear it above music - also my Passengers can hear it too & it's getting annoying now. The tyre pressures are checked every week (well sometimes every two weeks when I forget). Any idea what is causing it? How can it be sorted? We have a stupid amount of speedbumps around here which I can't avoid so could they have contributed to it? My previous 1.0l T3 had a squeak too which turned out to be the brake 'binding' against the wheel (also was the front offside one too), MrT sorted this under warranty.

Also had to get a new wing mirror this week as on Monday some idiot came too far over on our side of the road when they were passing a parked car, clipped the offside wing mirror, forced the whole thing towards the window, the mirror fell out and was all cracked and broken but the casing doesn't have a mark on it. Got a replacement for £6 ish out of Halfords.

Thanks,

T

Wheel bearing? I remember when mine went on the Matiz, the racket was awful!

I dont think you can get them done under warranty though, I think they're classed as wear and tear items.... it cost me about £60 from memory from Daewoo, so I'm not sure how much Toyota would charge....

Probably best just to take it to them anyway for a proper diagnosis....
