Hi,

just bought a Toyota Radio/cass and a Toyota CD player (seperates).

Should there be a cage, into which the units would screw, of some sort in the caverous hole above the ash tray on my 90 GT import ?

The hole is 5 inches tall but the units are around 4 1/2 inches, am I missing a peice of trim?

Umm, yeah, would have thought so...

Have never seen the interior of a G5 though, so can't say for definte. Someone should be able to answer though...??

Yep, there is a two unit mounting cage into which the units screw. I myself still have the original RDS radio + disc changer installed.. :P

Probably time to visit the local scrap yard!

Have you got the slide out cup holder that goes below the radio? Thats about 3/4 inch thick.

Not making any promises, But it`s just conceivable that i might have my old one in the junk yard i call a garage. I`ll have a look at the weekend. You`re more than welcome to it if i`ve still got it.

I've looked around and so far can only find holders that fit single dins and they are in the US.

just looked uner the passengers seat following a hint from another thread, and found a Toyota 220 watt amp.

This seems rather large, was it a standard fitment for a JDM car?

Haven`t been able to find the cup holder yet. But i`ve still got the workshop to tidy. I`m almost sure i never threw it out.
