Can anyone tell me what the standard tint on an imported 1994 st205 is, I need a new windscreen after a few nasty chips and have been asked to inform them of the colour blue or green??

Any help is much appreciated, the car as at home and they need the info ASAP

Cheers

Darren

It probably depends on the colour of the car, or..?

Mine is a '95 GT and it seems to be grey (the car is black).

I just arranged to get mine done and they told me that mine was blue from my reg number, and to be honest it does look blueish.

Mines a red 96 ST

cheers guys, I have went with blue - I thought that it looked slightly blue just thought I'd double check. Probably doesnt matter a hell of a lot as the standard tint is fairly light. Pain in the @rse to have to replace it at all, bl@@dy brittish roads....

Mine turned up today but I had to send it back because it had three scratches on it!

Make sure you check - Luckily the bloke fitting it noticed these and came to tell me before he fitted it.

I've needed a new screen for a while as it had 5 chips on it but they were all small enough to pass the MOT.

I noticed a van in the petrol station the other day offering to give you £25 of your excess back so it only costs £25 to have the whole screen changed - bargain!

Pop a peice of paper up against the top of the windscreen and look at it.

MR2's were Green for UK cars and Brown for Jap cars .. I *think* they then went all Blue later in production.

OK they turned up again this morning to fit the windscreen, but again it went back!!

As I said before they told me mine was blue from the reg number - the fitter told me they can't do that and that the woman at the call center was just trying to get me to have a blue one because their main stockist only does blue.

He told me how he normally tells the difference which is the green one doesn't have a VIN Window in the bottom corner - the Blue one does.

So it turns out mine is a green one (without a VIN window) and it's now going to be done tomorrow!!

He also said there is one that doesn't fit right about an inch to narrow, but he wasn't sure if that was the difference between green and blue or another variation again.

Bibbs - I tried the paper trick - it does make mine look green - but the blue one they sent looked greenish but closer to clear. Even the fitted agreed it hardly looked blue!
