Hi can people please help me

Im thinking about buying a phase 2 t-sport rear bumper to go on my 1999 phase 1 yaris gs

I went into Mr T today and as usual, they cant help me  they said if i would like a quote i will need a Phase 2 t-sport chassis number/ or registration plate :ffs: even though i told him i was looking to fit on my car, he also mentioned that the rear bumper will 100% not fit because they changed the tailgate and rear lights and all the fixing brackets ????

Can someone please tell me if hes telling the truth and it wont fit, or has this bloke been smoking summet he shouldnt??? lol :P

this is the kind of bumper i am talking about, if people dont no lol

No idea if it'll fit or not... should do, but you'll need to wire up the lights in the bumper and the whole lot costs about £300 including fitting kit, skin and painting. Plus... why? The bumper strips will look very odd.

Well Ive got P2 lights on my P1 without any issues ...

Im pretty sure Camshaft did this with his 1litre but used a P1 bumper...

Very true Seveer.

The garage bloke also has a point - the bumper mounts and fixings are different between French and Japanese cars too. Your GS is very probably French and the T-Sport is definitely Japanese.

I give it a 95% "won't work" rating. Sorry...

Alrite bud,

Ive got a p1 bumper on my p2 (french made!) as you know so im sure itll fit, the bumpers are not a different shape at all with regards to fitting. Yes maybe the p2 one may have some extra fittings that the p1 doesnt but it'll be fine! Nothing to worry about

The fogs shouldnt be a problem either...just wire them up to the existing ones on the wire loom at the back of the rear lights! Job done.

why not use the ph1 t-sport bumper, it will fit that much easier

and they can find the part no's without the car, but they can't be bothered as they did it when I asked about t-sport bumpers for my car, and they cost about £300-£350 for the rear and the same for the front.

I'm sure any car bodykit specialist can fit the bumpers.

I beg your pardon! 300-350 for a front bumper!

Mines cost 60 to replace, plus spraying ... but I guess I did have the fogs etc already

yes it's £300 without anything else

the bumper is £150 the middle insert is £150, the bump strips left and right are about £20 each, and I couldn't tell you how much the plastic for the lights are, the fitting clips and anything else as I don't know.

These were the prices about 6 months ago.
