I saw that a couple of years ago and I've only used Apexi since.

Good info for those that haven't seen it before.

My blitz one does me. I know it`s not the best filtering filter in the world but it does look & sound rather nice. :D

I think the trick is to locate it where it`s not going to be subjected to tons of crap entering the vehicle.

yeah there was a differnet test done showing panel filters and induction kits, the Knn and the Apexi were pretty close in terms of performance.

Nice find tho interesting to see :)

Just had a quick read but I couldn't see how they tested the bhp and what vehicle it was on. 13-15bhp sounds quite optimistic to me but if they tested it then I guess it would be right???

I've got a K&N on the 1.6 Focus and I would guess at more like -5bhp

i guessed it may have been on here before.... but as i had missed it, i thought others would have to, and its a useful bit of info.

Someone did a 'before and after' test on the gt4 st205 that showed a 15bhp increase with an apexi induction kit ;)

First page says :

All filters were tested on a modified (300ps) JZA70 Toyota Supra for power gains.

And on the 2nd page.

Important Notes regarding the comparison:

- Extracts of this article have been transcribed from a Japanese article featured in Revspeed Magazine, August 1999.

- The original test was based upon the results found when using filters specifically made to fit the Toyota Supra. However, the filtration is unlikely to differ, as all the filtration materials used are the same for every model of car.

- The cost given for the filters are based on a the kit for an R33 Skyline GTR, except the K & N kit which only currently exists for a Skyline GTS, and are inclusive of VAT.

I have the K&N air-induction kit on my baby and have never driven it without so can't really comment on the benefits it give's to my car. would be nice to get it on the rolling road to see how many ponies she's pulling though.

Nice info to see them testing out the 4 models. I'll stick with the K&N for now.

I can only speak for the mighty gen 6 ST, which I have run with a stock filter, a K&N induction kit and a K&N filter at various times. The induction kit sounded good and gave more low-down power, but fuel consumption was marginally poorer. So far, it seems the K&N filter performs much like the standard one, but fuel consumption seems better than when I ran with a stock filter. Might just be a quirk, but I'm consistently getting over 400 miles from a full tank now, which I rarely did with the induction kit or a stock filter...
