yeah............. i saw a r33 skyline a few years back, covered in gumball decals, the whole front end back to the doors was stone chipped to f***, it was a wreck, absoloute tip inside, sleepin bags, fast food wrappers. "yep thats done the gumball" i said to my self.

a few weeks back i saw some scrawny little ****tard in a punto with a gum ball decal in the middle of each door, one in the middle of the bonnet, the little ***** was about 18, parked outside McDonalds..... and i wont write what i said to myself..... (oh and yes, i do talk to my self alot :P)

Yeh but you know what irritates me? If someone shows a new sticker here "they"complain, if someone shows his new TRD-emblems "they" complain, if someone got an airfilter on his aygo then there are laughers with "better cars" to make a fool of that guy. I'm getting sick of all the people who say "LOL that on an aygo... how stupid, how cheap, it doesn't get faster you know blablabla" :censor:

I don't think there's anything wrong with modding an Aygo but generally most like the car the way it is as that's what attracted them to it in the first place. Tastefull modding can be very very good but what is tastefull to one isn't to another. As for other mods such as filters - most get laughed at for fitting them for performance reasons on something like an Aygo and not for reliability or convenience. To fit a K&N filter thinking you will get some extra power is simply ridiculous and that is when these people will be laughed at. It's similar to the Gumball thing - fit the vinyls if you've done it but otherwise you just look like a sad little wannabe. There's also the culture issue as you come from the Netherlands and Continental taste differs to UK tastes - it doesn't mean to say one is better than the other, just different.

To get back to your point though - there will be laughs and critisism when someone tries to mod their Aygo to try and make it something it's not. However by posting it on a public forum you leave yourself open to praise AND critisism (on most occasions they ask specifically ask for peoples opinions). If you want your Aygo to be fast then don't -it's not going to happen unless you get silly with another engine, turbos or NOS which will cost a lot of money that could have bought a better car in the first place. Make it look cool by enhancing it's already good looks (so no silly wings or kits), make it handle for faster A to B progress and make it stop (good brakes are essential if you want to have fun)l and you can have a great little fun car but fast ? No.

I personally do not like a lot of modding as it often looks cheap and tacky and not in keeping with the original car design (big wings and wild jap kits do NOT look good on any car, not even any jap car !). The Euro smooth look does look very coold though but must be done perfectly and with amazing attention to detail.

I really enjoy modding but try to ensure the mods look like they are part of a theme and look like they have been factory mods or have been done by a high quality manufacturer (ie our Aygo's MOMO theme which is on going). Not everyone will agree with what I'm doing but many will. All I really care about is my wife and myself like it and it can be relatively easily returned to standard if I want to sell the car in the future so I'm not losing out on the residual value of the car either.

Lastly if I have offended you or anyone else on this forum with any of my previous opsts then I apologise. However, I feel that when I have expressed my opinion then I have always tried to explain any of my critisisms. So keep posting you ideas and stuff as it not only shows what can be done but can inspire other ideas - it was seeing a Ferrari prancing horse Badge on the side of a Pug 107 (something that is quite laughable to many) that gave me the idea for the MOMO theme for Traceys Aygo.

My last post was meant for earpl, not for you but anyway, I love really chancing the aygo to a new model. What I wanted to say; when someone wants to make a modification to his aygo and shows it here then I hate it when someone with an MR2 or Supra tells him how stupid it will look and that it is just an aygo... :censor:

:censor: that! We know that it's an aygo and we know that it will never be a supra (if that car looks that good) but we like the aygo.

I don't go to the Supraforum to tell them how outdated and expensive the Supra is and that it will never look like the one in "the fast and the furious"

Everybody bought their car for a reason and my reason is that I will make it "Furiously looking"

I think that's perfectly reasonable as if they looked at what other cars Aygo owners or their spouses have then they may have a bit more respect.

Still have to say it's not worth modding an Aygo for performance gains though as the money required you'd be better buying another car - not necessarily an MR2, Supra or any Toyota (i'm biased on this of course if you see my siggy ;))

Anyway back to the topic and here's my suggestion for side graphics as they are based on the Toyota F1 streaks.

i have always liked the thought of vinyls! yes i was hapy with the aygo when i bought it but i get bored easily and like to mod my cars! and no... i dont put non standard body kits on it, everything will stay standard and from the factory and my local dealers if i wanna mod it in anyway!

and ur rite, we do all come from different places with different opinions, but im an essex girl and im proud! so im gonna carry on being one in my mod'd up AYGO!!!!!!!!!!

I think that you have to choose between the side decal and the go faster speed strips on the bonnet as the two do not match ..... again my opinion

I also think that the decal just doesn't look right as it doesn't start at the bottom of the car ..... I think something horizontal would suit the car better, however the colour black is spot on !

Most peoples opinions are that decals generally suit the larger type of cars, however if you can get the right one I think that you can pull it off.

Now the wheels - what have you done lol

Does the aygo have discs at the front? But apart fom being a bit big they don't look to bad

Have a look at the topic "Modded Aygo" to see Traceys Aygo as it is now and what I did in photoshop. That way you'll see why it has stripes as well as side decals. We are not getting side decals but had considered it and came to the same opnion - stripes or side not both. I think it looks pretty mental and cool though but things like lowering the roof just won't happen. Some European may do it at some point though as they've tried almost everything on any other car with some stunning efffect.

It's a photoshopped picture and obviously your calipers aren't that big .... even though I know little about the aygo I just asked a question

I found out that you have a similar setup to the yaris ..... discs on the front and drums on the back

So paint them red ..... the brake calipers lol

I asked as what modern car DOESN'T have disks and calipers at the front ? Many obviously have drums at the back but it seemed odd for you to originally ask if the Aygo had disks at the front when I can't think of a modern day car that do not have them. Hence my Duh !!! comment. Maybe I'm missing something from your original question don't know as it just seemed a bit weird.
