More info please

Was it there on the car when you got it? If yes, it's a warranty job - get dealer to fix.

If not, what's it like, what casued it?

oh no i think someone might have scrapped it in a car park, only noticed it recently, not something i would ever see.

not overly angered as my car as already had 1500 quid worth of car park damage subjected to it

its on the left hand side bumper insert, its painted the ice blue colour

few scrapes a small area of paint totall come off about 3mm thick 3cm long.

i phoned up mr t they said bring it over next week for a look, can either touch it my self with a kit for £5 or they can repsray it for £100's lol

also a new insert costs £11 but isnt painted, so might get that and a can of spray paint from Halfords and do it myself.

but wait and see what Mr T says.

You could ask a mobile chip repairer but I doubt they could get it perfect.

Your spray can is unlikely to be pefrect either but probably worth a go.

Try asking a local, independent bosy shop for a quote too.

Yes, I'd go with either doing it yourself or getting a bodyshop to do it. Depending on the damage (any pics?) you could repaint and refit the original but at £11 I'd get a new one as it will probably look better once painted and it will have the adhesive on the back ready to stick it in place (I think!).

went to mr t and rightly was not impressed, they said £80 + vat to respray the insert, i frankly said jog on

then its £6 to get a touch up stick and do it myself which is tempting, it wont look super but will look better.

but i have no money to waste on my car at the moment as going holiday so will just leave it, its only plastic so won't rust or get worse.

Now I am in the same boat as you. But at first it was worse. After a hard days work one Saturday I thought I would treat my Aygo to a car wash. So whilst I was in the car wash I noticed a massive dent in the front right corner of the bumper (must have happened while it was parked).

Anywho, to cut a long story short, I managed to pop out the dent on the bumper because its plastic and I'm left with a massive set of scratches on that corner of the car. I'm just going to wait until I have some surpluss cash to do mine because living in London you gotta expect these things.

Sorry to hear about your dent but car washes are really bad for your paintwork, please don't do it again :P

A wee car like the Aygo will only take minutes to wash by hand

That's not a treat whether it's a machine or those jet foam washes - it's torture ! It takes 15 mins to wash an Aygo from start to finish and that's taking your time so no real excuse to do it by any other method than by hand (also use a sheep skin mit and NOT a sponge as they are much more effective).

Yes

They also (hopefully) get any grit trapped in the fibres and not on the surface to scratch like a normal sponge.

I use the "two bucket method" where you rinse your mitt out in pure water so grit gets removed and then put it into the car wash solution. Best way to avoid scratches ;)

i take it to an expensive hand car wash that DO use the sheep things and chamios leathers to do the car. The machines put scratches in the paintowrk. But they do a good job at the hand one, therefore it is a treat.
