Halfords -

HEY GUYS !!!

Could not believe this . But , today my friend and I visited our local Halfords (Hamilton) , just out of curiosity . My friend was looking for a new head unit for his 52 plate civic . An alpine CDA-9853R . Which is advertised in store at £224.99 , but once you gettin speaking to him , the sales assistant , who was quite knowledgeable , offered us the unit for £180.00 !!! + free fitting !

Now dont get me wrong there "price comparison program" is daft .. " comparison within 10 miles and only on older stock ! !" but the alpine unit is still pretty new ! with free fitting and a three year warranty.

If you go online .. you pay £180.00 or therebouts for the unit . 25 quid p&p and around 50 quid if u want it fitted (I FIT ALL MY AUDIO MYSELF BEFORE ANY COMMENTS :P ) but we all no that getting someone else to fit it is more convenient !

So therefore it turns out HALFRAUDS is very good value for money ... I was teribly impressed , especially when local audio stores were still charging over 200 for the unit with no fitting..

Any way at the end of the day .. my mate purchased a sony unit ... very bling and no noticible sound quality difference .. B) Sony CDX-RA650

Sorry for post length , I was just happy with the service from Halfords and i thought i would let u all no hehe :D

But but but - Halfrauds in Hamilton's crap! I can never find anything I'm looking for. I go to the place at the top of Airbles Road in Motherwell (Motorsave or something) instead.

So awesomely cheap Alpine unit and he got a sony one?

I don't mind Sony audio, there HU's are quite nice. Their Speakers i would never buy because they look too much like they are all looks no go. They are ok but they look loud and seem to appeal to chav's with their Xplod range! That just makes me think they are designed to look good so you buy them rather than you listen to the quality. Pioneer E-motion's and Alpine Type-R's are simple designs with high quality punches so i would go down that route every time imo.
