No Celica Driving For Me

I've just been and had a sit in the Celica and because of the relatively low seating position I can operate the clutch with no problems what-so-ever and I can move my foot to the side etc.

So I would say I can drive with no problems but has anyone got any idea on what the official rules are???

I haven't been told by a doctor that I can't drive, all I've been told is that he wouldn't have thought I would be able to drive for 6 weeks and even that was just a passing comment nothing set in stone.

I'm not worried about driving but it's just incase something did happen and I had a bump - I don't want the insurance company to try a wriggle out of it because I had a bad leg.

Any body know for sure anything about this sort of thing??

One of the ladys up the road from me got banned for a year/fined for driving with a cast on her leg , she almost knocked down a lady and her pram. I dont know the exact rules but she was done with something ! Apparantly she didnt brake hard enough coming down the hill and swerved to miss the pram , the lady pushing the pram went apesh*t and started screaming at her only to realise she was driving wth a cast on . One phone call later and the police were involved . I dont know what the fine was as we dont speak to the family but her rav-4 sat in the same place for months then disapeared , i havent seen her driving for ages now . I'll ask my Dad later if he knows anything else about what happened .

Maybe give it a bit more time to be on the safe-side ? up to you , i hate to imagine not driving for weeks on end :crybaby:

Took the plunge - did a 15 mile round trip with no problems. Braking hard is't a problem as it's my left leg. Only problem I found is getting out and walking afterwards  it takes about 5 minutes to settle back in.

Took the dog for a good long walk as well about 1.5 miles and that's made my leg feel loads better.

sssshh - don't tell me that - I'm already far too tempted! If that had been a black one at that price I would have snapped it up.

Yeah - I should really try one out - there's a place up the road in Newcastle which specialises in imports and they often have some (over priced) GT4's in.

I guess when I have a change I like the look and feel to change as well wheras the dash etc will stay the same. My wife has also told me I'm not alowed a car older than my current car (P reg) whip.gif

I'm sure that wouldn't stop me but if I can it stops a bit of hassle ;)
