Has the new filter made any difference to the zorst note?

Surely that also helped the ear !Removed!?

was on a sunday night :bye:

as for the induction kit.. I haven't really noticed that much off a difference... but when I picked up a mate of mine the first thing he said was my car sounded different.... and thats before I'd even told him it had an induction kit!!!

whatever.. it sure sounded sweet :D juts gotta lose that annoying dumpvalve now!!! its making my car overfuel like a demon...

what? the dump valve has bugger all to do with over fueling....

It does :P its dumping a huge amount of air into the atmosphere that has passed thru the air flow meter....

the cars ECU assumes as its passed thru the airflow meter its going into the engine.. and squirts in the correct amount of fuel to match that amount of air... but the air went into the atmosphere......

So the car overfuels

My car is 15 years old and on its original set of turbos ;) I only fitted the dump valve less then a week ago!!!!

What I'm gonna go is get a recirculating one :D no annoying noise.. no overfualing.. protected turbos!

sorted!!!

oooh, you made it out as if you were getting rid of your bov all together. in which case your turbos would stall and get smashed to bits. i still dont believe your BOV is making you over fuel. after all a recirc will just put the air back into the engine, just inside your air intake...

These engines never had a DV as std! odd as most toyos have a std recirculating one!

I'm positive its making my car overfuel.. it only does it when the BOV is.. errr. blowing.. and it makes sense that it would as the airflow meter is sending the ECU a false reading thats way too high!!!!!! :arrgg-matey: lol

I suppose it is possible as most turbo cars are run off a map sensor from the lambda sensor in the zorst so it could happen if your car runs an af sensor.

Back on topic when i drive from south london to uni in notts i have to go throu the dartford tunnel and then the smaller ones further round just b4 the m1. Everytime its windows down and drop a gear. My girlfriend thinks im childish but it sounds brilliant!!!

you must have a recirc BOV somewhere. it absolutly rapes your turbo when the air rushes back out the air intake.

mate of mine blocked his up coz he liked the flutter the air rush made. 1 week later, the fins shattered on his turbo and went shooting into his cylinders, and ture the life out of his valves, piston, cylinder.

2 grand later he unblocked his BOV...

you must have one somewhere

I don't.

There is defo NO BOV on the 1G-GTE engine.. I spend ages looking for it as I did not beleive that there was not one in there!!!! but there wasn't.. so I asked on the supra forums.. I eventually found someone who knew about my engine and he confirmed that there is no factory BOV!!!

weird innit

Ok...I had a fueling problem caused by the aftermarket dump valve with my (dare I mention it again) Calibra Turbo- same thing, ECU was as confused as a confused thing in confused land...net result for me was various things amoungst which was flames- so it wasn't a total loss tee hee

Don't you HATE it when that happens? More tempted to get one now huh?

Whats worse is when I have a blokey mate in the car with me- you can tell that everyone's thinking "aww look, he's letting her drive his car" ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
