Brake Fluid

Can anyone tell me what the different dot's refer to on brake fluid.

And what would the difference be if I upgraded from 3 or 4 to 5.1

go for 5.1 much higher boiling point :) may aswell put braided lines on whilst ur at it ;)

Dot 3 i think was superceeded to DOT4. 5.1 has a much higher wet and dry boiling point but not mixable with any other fluid. Hope that helps
