OK then, here it goes:

1) Seat on the driver's side. The passenger's seat shoulb be also occupied.

2) Insert key and turn to ON

3) Set the trip/ODO display to ODO (not trip A or trip cool.gif. If it is already in the ODO mode, you’ll need to cycle through the options until you reach Odometer again.

4) Release the button.

5) Press and hold the button again and while you still holding the button start the engine. Keep pressing the button.

6) Count exactly 14 seconds.

7) Buckle the driver's seatbelt

8) If the last step was successful, "b on" or "b off" should be displayed in the location where the Trip Odometer or Odometer is normally displayed. "b on" is beep on, and "b off" is beep off.

9) Press Trip/ODO to toggle the mode

10) Wait till the display changes back to ODO

11) Done

Now the beeper does not operate.

This procedure was carried out sucessfully to a 2005 Toyota Corolla TS ZZE123L.

I tried this about 20 times lastnight and could not get it to work. Can you please clarify a few things that may help?

1) While holding the button and starting the engine, how do you know when to start counting to 14!? Is it from the instant you turn the key, or when the engine is fully turned over or what? It's very hard to indentify exactly 14 seconds!!! wacko.gif

2) Do you release the button before buckling the seatbelt?

3) Does the passenger have to be wearing his seatbelt?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

OK! First u have to be very precise about the 14 sec part. The time starts counting from the moment the engine runs. If you cant make it work, do the start of the engine within 5 sec from the time you pressed the button.

I will do it again during the weekend to spot any discepancies in the procedure and I will let you know.

As for the question where the heck did I find it out, well, God moves in a mysterious way smile.gif

ok did this and it worked. i sat on the passenger seat, dont know if it makes a differece but hey no more beeps

I've been trying this with my 2006 Toyotoa Corolla Colour Collection and I can't seem to disable the noise. Has the procedure changed, or am I just not doing it right? Any ideas?

it worked for me.... but then again, it didn't work for my friend's rolla.

only noticable difference between the two is that my speedo reads in mph and his reads in kmph. don't know if that's the reason.....

i assume it should work out for you then, mine is a colour collection too.......

one important thing is that you do the timing (those 14 seconds) accuratly. i noticed that if you do it too late or too early it wont work. but after a few times it always works.
