Mesh

Spent most of yesterday filling that stupid gaping gob. Think it looks much better and protects the exposed rad. I will mesh the bottom one when I buy an air compressor and respray the body kit. (Is it worth me buying a compressor? the 4 piece kit, spoiler and wheels all need respraying)

Also got my plates transferred. Liking the car more and more.

Much better mate -the grill was one of the 1st things I did to my car  As for buying a compressor, I personally wouldn't as I don't if I'd do as good a job as a pro (infact I'm sure I wouldn't!) and I know a top bloke who would do it cheap enough for me - but only you know your limitations! :)

if you are just spraying a small section, rattle cans will be fine.

I got a small compressor, 50 liter, Useful for so many jobs. Nail gun, Blowing things out, Spraying fence panels, Inflating tyres, dolls (Ooops) £40 quid eBay bargain. Still going strong.

Be careful with those dolls. 50 litre compressor sounds powerful. don't want to damage her. I think I might get one, done loads of spraying before but nothing bigger than..

To do the spoiler, kit and wheels will easily use 6 or 7 cans in total. Seen a new compressor with attachments for £90 delivered. Just wondered if they gave a good finish.

no, do u think it would look good on a silver car? will be a bit tricky now as it is all glued in. might try some photoshopping and see what it would look like.

I got a compressor as i was spraying a lot of little bits and to be honest it's easier with cans. I have resprayed a full car with the compressor and it was OK but if I needed to do it again I'd just pay - infact I just had the landy done - full respray to go from green to black - only cost £100

I personally think it would look better :) my only problem with the silver mesh in that front bumper is it makes the car look like a shark  with big teeth.

My GT4 is silver with a dark grill and that works :)

Should`ve done what i did with my series 2... 5 litres of Dulux household gloss, thinned down with half a gallon of petrol. Slap it on with a 3" brush and bob`s your uncle. Unbelievably good finish.

That mesh looks very fine - I hope it doesn't affect your cooling system.

For the spraying, just find a small local bodyshop who will do it for cash. It should be cheaper than buying all the spray kit yourself, and will be a better result

I thought that when it turned up from eBay. The holes are about 5-7mm i think (cant really tell from that pic) I'd estimate 30% aluminium by area so it should be alright. I hope  Being a student with the whole summer off I will calculate the area from the mass of the 2nd piece I will fit. :nerd: loserish I know, but I am an Aerospace Materials scientist.
