Number Plate Lights

Does anyone know how to remove the number plate light assembly from a gen 6 because the screws on mine are so rusty I can't get them out, do I take the number plate off? Any drawings would be helpful.I'm sure I can't be the only person with this problem. I only want to replace a lamp but it's turned into a right headache.

I didn't have any problems - I changed a bulb a couple of weeks ago. I do remember that one screw was missing though!

I can't remember if they stick out or not but if they do stick out try grabbing them with a pair of mole grips or pliers. Failing that try putting a screw driver in and tapping it witha hammer to free off the thread a bit. Other than that try using a small straight srew driver and tap it in towards one side then angle it and tap it to start it off un doing.

After all that I'd be getting pee'd off and would probably drill the screw out.

If you do get them out make sure you replace them with new

I would rather get the whole lot out to drill on the workbench because I know I'll muck painted plastic parts if not.

you should be able to take the bulb holders out and renew the bulbs from inside the boot

I got the screws out now using tiny molegrips, still a pain in the b*m.
