Tried to male this into a poll but failed

Got a test drive of an Aygo on Monday. If I like it OK I am placing an order for a SPORT for September delivery.

I'm pretty undecided about which colour to go for, so which would you pick, red or silver?

Cheers.

All those with red Aygo owners will obviously say get the red and the silver owners would say silver but it also depends on if you are paying extra for the metallic paint. For me there are too many silver (or silver variants like ic blue and gunmetal grey) cars on the road so the red one sticks out more and you get noticed more. If you like this then thats fine. Also consider safety - it's a small car and if you can be seen more in a red one then that has to be good on those grounds. I think it would great in yellow but they only so yellow 107s and I'm not so keen on the 107 styling (for me it looks like a small car with big car bits stuck on it - big lights, big bumper, etc gives it the look of a little boy wearing the big brothers clothes, all very cute but not at all sporty)

At the end of the day it's your choice but I wouldn't say getting a red one is being an extrovert at all because its just red - things like yellow and pink and super bright green are much more LOOK AT ME colours. Lastly both colours should sell on easily as both are very popular.

So I say get the red for two reasons. It may be cheaper and the car stands out more (even a silver Ferrari blends in with the rest of the traffic as there's so many silver cars on the road).

Thanks for the replies so far, keep 'em coming...

Those pictures are helpful. The dealer has two silver ones as demos, no red ones unfortunately.

I think the red looks great but just a wee bit worried that it's appeal could wear off over time.

I like the idea of not spending an extra £300 on a metallic - it is supposed to be a cheap car after all.

There's a special edition Aygo Black that might appeal to you if you fancy something in a colour thats a limited run, got 8 spoke alloys as well.

I am certainly interested in this if I can get the dealer to sell at the same price as we have agreed. I doubt it though as I would expect them to be sold quickly.

Funny how, when I called Toyota UK a wekk or two ago they said "there were no plans to release a black Aygo in the UK"

Personally I don't like silver cars, they are far too common!

Go Red! AYGO's were made to stand out!

Just a follow up.

The special edition Aygo is based on a +. It does not, therefore have a rev counter or fogs.

No big deal of course but just so you know!!!

I ordered a RED sport - thanks to all who offered an opinion.

I drive a Silver Sport, Its awesome..

But i have to say initially I asked for RED, however they said it would be a 4 month wait! But at the end of the day, im happy ive gone with Silver now, Its metalic for a start so it looks smarter.

I beleive the Aygo's all stick out, not sure how RED will keep in the sun either, gotta think about it fading?

Anyway, im sure your be happy with watever you choose!

A red car will only fade if not correctly looked after. Regular protection from a paint sealant and wax will protect it.

Neither get the Ice blue, thats the best colour avalible the extra £325 is well worth it for metallic paint!

People always say red cars are faster, and in the case of the Aygo it is sort of true. If you want another colour you must get a + or a Sport, which are both better equipped and therefore heavier and slower than the base model.

Get a red, get an Aygo with wind-down windows and enjoy the speed :D

And also, my CTS is probably painted with the same red paint they are using on the Aygos, and it still looks great after 3.5 years, so I wouldn't worry too much about it fading.

Paul.
