Hey people, well im kinda still a newbie with these things, But i know for a fact that the Yaris 2006 Model has 6 1/2 inch Speakers front and rear.

Though, b 4 i got the yaris, i already baught a set of Pioneer TS-E1695 6" 3Way Speakers, it is 6 inch. Though my question is....will it fit in the 6 1/2 inch space????

2nd question is....the BASS, my sound sytem is all stocked.......but i like to play my music loud in my car. (Im kinda a loud music freak........and NO i dont like to show off.....cuz i always put my window up, not like some other people who like to show off their music with all windows down.) Anyway my question with the bass...when the volume is amplified, i have to turn down the bass to "-5" cuz my bass is ****, cuz its stocked of course....lol. Well when some songs play and they have heavy bass in it, my door tends to rattle like most common cars. Im just wonderin how do u stop the rattling of the doors with the BASS? Since i hear so many car have a common problem when turning up the bass. But mine is set to -5, but when songs with good bass, that rattling sound comes. Oh yea i cant hear the rattling sound inside the car. But i noticed it when i was cleaning my car.

THAAANNNKKKS!!!

Yo,

I didn't realise they made 6 inch Speakers! How are you measuring the Speakers?

Just googled them, they are 16 cm, I assume they will fit the same space.

I assume bass problem will be partially remedied by having better Speakers, might want to try some Dynamat type / acoustic stuff to deaden the doors...it helps with mine.

Or you could always buy a subwoofer, then you wouldn't have to turn your stereo up so much!

To stop the vibrating/rattles in the door, take your inner door card off and you'll see a load of blue plastic... it's this that vibrates. Either strip it off and dynomat the door, or just stick the plastic down with lots of gaffer tape! Solved.

AHh thanks guys!!!! but im choosing to "dynamat" my doors....

i have googled it and yea

Ok i found the site on how to install it "http://www.dynamat.com/technical_installation_door_kit_install.html" but what is "dynamat" exactly? is it just foil to go in ur car door thing???

thanks!

BTW if i take it down to a company to install my Speakers....do u think that they would know how to "dynamat" it?

Yeh, when my Speakers were installed the guys put some dynamat on. As far as I can see it's just sticky material that they've stuck to the door - cutting out bits where there are holes in the door frame etc..

You have to put it behind the door card.

AHh thanks ssk2, btw do u have that rattling problem now???

Though there are two "dynamat" products i can choose from....one for the whole door.....and one for just the speaker area...which one do i get??

The Yaris isn't really the most solid car - you still get rattling, but if I turn the music up then it doesn't really bother me!

Besides, the rattling is mainly at the back of the car now!

I think mine must be the one for the speaker area...I'd probably go for the whole door, but I guess it'll cost more.

Ahh thanks ssk2!! Well for the area of the Speakers its 50AUD for me....and for the 2 doors, its about 120AUD....so i think im gonna get the whole door cover......

and as u said, prob get rid of the blue plastic if that doesnt have any real significance.......

what do u mean it should go under the "door card"?

Sorry, under the door card - as in you have to take off the panel on the door (so you get to the actual metal door etc.). I'm not sure how it is with the new Yaris - seveer wrote a very good speaker replacement guide which starts off by showing how to remove the door card, but then again thats for the old Yaris.

Oh thanks ssk2!!! lol yea i was thinking that the door card was the door panel lol!!

oh that sucks, cuz i called some places to install my Speakers, front and rear........though they said they dont know how to take off the 2006 Yaris's door panel

and i dont know what to do.....cuz i know how to install the Speakers....but im scared i will stuff up the door panel.....

Hm, if the new Yaris is in any way similar to the old one ... the door panel is really very easy to remove. It has like 3 weird screw pop-out type things and a few screws.

Try undoing any screws you see (remembering where they came from + keeping them safe) and then seeing if the door card comes off. Don't force it though.

It can't be impossibly hard else the Toyota garages wouldn't be able to fix stuff!

Or you could always phone up a Toyota garage and ask them very nicely...heh.
