Steering & Special Paint

Hi everyone! Just registered as i stumbled across the forums just after buying my Aygo

Just a few things i'd like your opinions on...

1. After about 150 miles i noticed the steering become noticably looser (Mr T said that everything is ok) but being a new driver i didn't want to take any chances. Did anyone else notice this? is it normal for new cars? we've had quite strong winds up here the past week so i wasn't sure if that had effected it too

2. Does anyone have any info on how to go about re-painting whole car in a custom colour, how much it'd cost and whether it is even possible on a new car! was quite dissapointed with the range of colours offered on the aygo.

sorry if i sound like a total newb (but i am!!) it's great to see so many Aygo owners in one place

Hello and welcome!

Not an Aygo driver but yes, the steering will become more free as will the gears, nothing to worry about as your Mr T has said. Of course, if you find it becoming alarming, then another trip to Mr T for reassurance won't hurt.

As for painting a whole car, it certainly wouldn't be cheap. Look for bodyshops in your area and ask for quotes. Of course, it would invalidate your anti perforation warranty.

i think it was seeing that special edition black aygo posted on the forum made me worry that the roads will soon be full of red aygos! maybe i should just mod the car with a spoiler or something to make it slightly more personalised.

hmmm could put black vinyl spots all over it make it look like a ladybird...

has anyone got pics of their personalised red aygos they could post?

You're not going to get many replies on here this afternoon, I'm afraid. A little case of a certain footie match on one channel (nearly over) and a motor race on the other about to start!

Yes, a roof spoiler definitely sounds a better way to go than black spots! ;)

I wouldnt be worried by the steerinf freeing up, everything will need time to 'bed in' ;)

Also, I think that a full respray would easily be in excess of £1k.

Here's Traceys, it's a Sport with bonnet/roof stripes, tinted windows, B-pillar decal, silver indicator bulbs, Carbon Fibre Style PIAA window wiper, Punto rear wiper/blade. Also plan a new rear spoiler and for the moment we are looking at the Pug one but also waiting on the new Toyota accessories catalogue which was supposed to be out this month.

i decided to focus on making the interior match the exterior instead, added a black and red steering wheel cover and looking out for a nice gear knob.

Rang toyota and they have no options for gear knob/gaitor on the aygo. Do most standard knobs like the TRD ones fit?

AygoUgo - Did you manage to get a leather gaitor made? just read your old post about sending one off!

And my family are from Liverpool & cheshire, i wouldn't change my club just because i moved house :P it's nice to stay out of the sunderland vs newcastle rivalry by just liking neither lol (im a girl so i dot really get asked about football anyways!). I bet you'll be jumping for joy if gerrard plays well today! :P

I don't like those silver race style wings that look untterly stupid on road cars - they look like bike racks (also hate the big Scooby and Evo wings when stuck to anything other than a scooby or Evo). Nothing wrong with a road style spoiler that is designed to enhance the original style of the car. I reckon the Pug one looks better on the Aygo than the Toyota ones as it extends the roof line whereas as the Toyota one is stuck on the top of the roof.
