Granite 2004 purchased from new has no internal protection from alarm, does anyone know if they can be fitted to existing alarm. god only knows why Toyota didn't fit internal protection.

i always thought the alarms use microwaves to protect the interior - hence, when you click the button 3 times, it switches them off (1 click is basic lock, 2 click is deadlocked, 3 click = interior sensors off).

Must admit that if they have changed them, it does seem a daft thing to do!

just had a look in a sales brochure for a 2004 spec RAV4, if the Granite is based on the XT3, it will have a "Remote perimeter alarm", if its based on a XT4 or XT5, it already has a "Remote alarm with perimeter and microwave interior protection", hope that helps.
