Looking at the Std intake pipe onn the Caldina I have noticed it dosent have a uasual air flow metre

As I have found many meters have a sensor like a ring with a string through the centre

And the Beams one has a 'Prope" type that looks like it has a wind tunel in it?

Is there any way to place a normal 'Ring' Type sensor on it, so i can make a new pipe to fit a pod filter?

Different sensors will send different signals to the ECU, I doubt they are interchangable as your ECU will be unable to interpret the signal.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't the BEAMs MAP sensor regulated as opposed the AFM?

redtop Beams has an afm, redtops are quite sensitive to having there afm toyed with, and its a hit or a miss whether aftermarket air filters are any good, its more likely to mess the fueling up without a remap. Try removing the snorkels leading from behind the headlight into the airbox, assuming its the same as the celica then this should make the sound much deeper and make the performance feel a bit better.
