Can someone please tell me whether the 2000 onwards Previa only has one air con re-gassing point?

I (and three other garages) have looked and looked and looked and can only find a High pressure tap but no Low pressure tap. Is this correct? If some does know where the Low pressure tap is then PLEASE help me out by telling me where it is....it's driving me crazy. :ffs:

If it does only have one tap then it seems to fly against convention because all of the air con manuals I have, and the garages I've been to (and, yes, they are specialist air con garages, though not Toyota dealers) say that vehicles with dual cooling systems always have a High and a Low pressure tap!

Reason I got into all of this is because the 2000 Previa I have suffered a leak in the air con system which no one seemed to be able to locate. It was eventually traced to the rear wheel arch and the point at which the pipework goes back inside the vehicle - one of the seals has failed. The leak is slow and minor that it takes about 8 months for the gas to escape. The vehicle is due to go in next week to have the seal replaced and re-gassed.

GT4Booster - What a fantastic reply!!

Thank you so much. I'm going out to check the car now. If the second service valve isn't as shown in your design diagram then I'll send you the chassis number.

Once again, thank you!

The tap wasn't there. So I've sent GT4 Booster the relevant details to establish the correct air con layout for my Previa.

Thanks for all your advice.

Had the system re-charged, and yes, there is ONLY a Hi-Side charge point on these vehicles.

The problem I had was due to a leak on the OSR seal. The bloke who traced it - and my hat off to him for finding it when so many had thought it was the compressor, or valves sticking or some other supremely costly part - had a hell of a job getting into the wheel arch and replace it.

End cost, £95 incl. vat with a recharge.

Sorted!

If the vehicle only has a high side connection valve, the refrigerant can be re-charged using a heated charging still.
