Stop Beeping

Hello guys, I own a corolla 1.6 s/r 2006,

when the key is in the ignition at LOCK or ACC position and the drivers door is open, there is a very annoying beeping. I know there is a way to stop beeping when you are not wearing the seatbelt, but does anyone know if there is a way to stop the beeping when the key is in the ignition as described above?

Take the plastic trim off from around the ignition barrel and there you'll see some small wiring going to a plug in the ignition that disconnects the beeper from the 'keys in' state. I can't describe it other than that. Trial and error won't do any harm.

This won't stop the beeping for the reverse gear or seatbelt warnings though. :ffs: The beeper can be disconnected for the seatbelts - search this site for the instructions, but for the reverse gear I'm not sure - maybe on the gearbox because I couldn't find a wire to the linkage inside the car. The thing is the beeper is built into the rear of the clocks and to remove it you'd have to hack the plastic open!

thank you for your answer but not really want to disconnect anything, I was thinking if there is any procedure similar to the deactivation of seatbelt beeping, with pressing buttons and switching the key etc....
