Put the window winder UP , than put a long small screwdriver at the back of the winder and the panel .

Turn the screwdriver a and look you will see a little spring push the spring on one site downwards .

Lookout that the spring won,t jump away .

when you pushed the spring down the winder is lose

for your 1st problem you can either use the speaker as a bracket or drill it out and make your own bracket and before you ask 6.5 inch speaker will fit no problem at all if you going to use old speaker as bracket.

Yep the Speakers are riveted in ..... the best way would be to drill them out  !

Then pop to Maplins and get a rivet gun - only costs a couple of quid, and then rivet them back it

window winders are a pain in the backside. there is a sort of circlip that is behind it.

what i do is get a piece of cloth and work my way up behind the window winder, moving the cloth from side to side. works a treat. alternately there is a gadget you can get from machine mart to get them off.

as for the Speakers, you will need to drill them out and then use adaptors. here's some on eBay

they are the same as the corolla!

hope this helps

have a nice day

Ckman85 if you can hang on i sort you out the part number for the tweeter cover on monday when i can get hold of a toy dealer.

that adaptors is for yaris from the picture it dont look like the right shape but if you say it fits then i guess it will ,why not just rip speaker's out use the old speaker as bracket you won't even need to mess around with drilling out the rivet's etc and save yourself some money and time but is upto you.

you can't take the speaker out unless you are EXTREMELy careful, and when i say that i mean more than a surgeon careful! the outer bracket is either heated onto the speaker or glued!

i dont meant take of the speaker itself out , i should of said rip speaker in bit's.

use a flat head screw driver rip out the cone till you see the back of the speaker then cut the rear of the speaker cage of cos they are made plastic then you will be able to fit 6.5inch speaker in.

part number for front tweeter cover are left 67491-12480 and right 67492-12480 £13.94 each.

to be honest you be better of fixed tweeter outside the mirror cover you got,you will find if you use this tsport tweeter cover there isn't anything to hold the tweeter in place.

Thanks for the part number. well i wanted everything hidden and wen i took the panel off including the tweeter cover, i can stick the tweeters with double sided sticky tape and stick it on. Well im on holiday tomorrow, so ill probs order the parts wen i get bak and see how to take out the Speakers. Thanks a lot

if he is not running a sub he might get away with it.

i wasn't so worried about it coming off, its just double sided tape provides some damping, so when you are running high frequencies (which is what a tweeter does) then its more likely to dampen the sound and you'll not get the benefit.

hi guys, sorry to butt in, but do you know the maximum mounting depth of Speakers if I junk the plastic and mount straight to the door? I don't want to foul the leccy windows obviously...

I'm assuming the rear Speakers on the 3 door are the same?

Cheers for any advice :)

I'd say about 30mm, the adaptors i got take the speaker out by about 15mm and most Speakers are about 45mm in depth.

Eek  . Most of the Speakers I was looking at are in the region of 45-65mm mounting depth. I had hoped to get away with dynamating the metal door panel and mounting straight to that.

I guess I will have to keep the plastic ring now... :ffs:
