Looking For A Rav 4

Hi,

I'm new on here so hello to all - I'm previously from LOC as my IS200 is going and is being traded for a RAV4 for my wife.

Anyway, we've seen a 2.0 petrol in blue 3 door with leather, looks very nice but it's done 105k and it's on a 52 plate - £5995. Anything I need to check, it all seems ok, drove it yesterday and there was a knocking from the front (might be a bush).

2 of the alloys are corroded so I guess I'll need to get them repaired. Can anybody tell me if the spare should be an alloy or were they a full size spare?

Can somebody please give me an idea mpg for the 2.0 petrol, how much to fill up a tank from empty and the cost please! This is important as I need to tell my wife how much fuel they drink.

One last thing, what are these babies like in the snow? Do they perform as a 4-wheel drive should?

Anything else I need to watch out for?

Welcome (again :D ),

You are making a great choice in replacment vehicle, the RAV4 is well screwed together and should give you many miles of trouble free motoring :) .

As to MPG, my 2.0 VVTi auto Rav4 returns around 33 mpg (that's going by the trip computer, but as they over read, 29/30 is a more honest figure), that figure is mixed urban and B roads.

before i bought my motor i asked a Toyota service manager (from another toyota forum ) if the 2.0 VVTi RAV4 have any common problems and the answer was " No common problems as such , but have seen a few leaking sunroofs and the oxygen sensors can play up on the catalytic converter", but he did reinforce they are not common problems.

As to your clonk on the front, due to the vehicles mileage, it could be that the anti-roll bar links have some wear in them, get the garage to look at then before you buy.
