Our Corolla

T Sport 1978

I use to own a Megane II before i have my T Sport now, and just for curious reasons i re-visited the old Megane Forum i once was part of and realised one thing.

I realised how damn reliable the Corolla is compared to the Megane, a car that is newer and has better technologies. My Megane was bought brand new and it's been back to the dealer 12 times in its 2 years with me, and AA call out 4 times!

The problem page on the Megane forum has a frightening number of posts by truly disgruntled owners, compare this to the Corolla forum you will see that, we as a whole, and in general have a very good and reliable car.

I am writing this as a praise for our Rollas and in response to some of the moanings (though some are justified) that i see in this forum about niggly problems. You cannot appreciate the Rolla until you have had a truly aweful, unreliable car like my old Megane.

Anyway, pointless post perhaps but i just wanted to say enjoy your lovely Rolla and happy motoring!

Not pointless at all imo

I've had 2 Corollas, both were 1993 on K plates, and neither of them let me down :D

The first Corolla in our family made me a Toyota-fan.It's made 1987,we bought it 10 years ago and that's the MOST reliable car i've ever seen! When we bought it second hand from Germany it was 110000km.,now 10 years after that is 230000km.and no problems with that car!Only fuel, motor oil, tyres e.t.c..I can't believe what unbreakable work horse is that Corolla ee80  The motor is great also-1.3 12v,very nippy, excellent acceleration, very good fuel consumption-only 5.3/100km. on the motorway. :) So the last summer when we went for a new car i insist to be a Toyota .We bought a new Corolla 1.4VVT-i in chilly red and i'm very happy. :D It was delivered with delay from U.K. :P .I hope it will be as quality as our old Japan manufactured Corolla!

Yeah, that's understandable, you just can't compare the reliability of French cars with Japanese, it's just cruel, they're in a completely different league. It's always good to hear about about happy car experiences though
