Master Brake Cylinder

Hi all

My 2 and a half year old avensis has suddenly lost it's brakes.

i took it to the dealer and have been told that the master cylinder has gone.

they will not pay for this as it is 1000 miles outside of the warranty. :censor:

has anyone else experienced this with an avensis

it is a 2003 model on a 53 plate.

i appreciate that the milage is above but didn't expect the whole breaking system to be gone after 60,000 miles?

Hi m8, i really cant see the MS going at 60000, anyway what i would do is get a second opinion because the majority of the time toyota like most big garages talk absolute b******* as both me and my bro have had majore problems with toyotas lying and rubbish customer service. If the second opinion place says its the MS then i would take it for 3rd opinion, if they say the same thing then its obviously that. I would get a MS from a scrappy, try maybe a jap part specialist, there is plenty of them, quite easy to change i think, let me know how you get on m8:].
