Warning Light Come On, And Something Has Dropped Off!

Hi,

The little orange 'engine' warning light has come on tonight whilst I was out in the Rav.

Looked in the manual, and it says "Take to a Toyota Dealer" Helpful or what?!

What does this little light actually mean? Is it safe to wait until they can get me in, or do I need it sorting NOW?

Also, last night I was driving along in the estate, and a big chunk of metal fell off! Went to see the bloke next door, who is a mechanic and he said it was part of a mounting that had fallen off. Could the two be related? or is my poor old Rav just feeling in need or some tlc?
