Yet Another Alarm Problem

I thought I was one of the lucky ones to have a fully working alarm and two fobs... until now!

I have read many threads on hear but none seem to have the same problem as I have. I'm not sure when it started, may have been since I disconnected the Battery to do the cambelt. Basically both keyfobs appear to function correctly and the car gives out the correct sequence of arming and disarming beeps. The alarm LED lights up after the beeps (I'm sure it used to be instantaneous) and goes out when I disarm.

However, that is it! the doors neither lock or unlock, the indicators do not flash and I cannot get the siren to go off no matter how I try to trigger it. And the panic button does nothing. Interestingly, if I arm it from inside the vehicle the panic button turns the alarm LED off and on as many times as amuses me. The alarm remains in the armed state until I press the black button again.

I have located the alarm ECU and it appears ok, (no blown fuses or dodgy connections) and I have tried all combinations of buttons and valet key positions.

If anyone has any ideas I would most grateful. Will I need to buy a whole new system? :(

Cheers,

Ben
