Anybody else had the problem with the rear swab clips failing, allowing the seat to "Pop-up". I had the problem when I first had the car five months ago and it was repaired under warranty (plastic clips were replaced). At the time the garage implied that a number of Aygo's have suffered from this problem.

Thing is the clips had failed again, this is despite the fact that the rear seat is only used about once a month, and even then only for a short journey.

The car is going back to Mr. T tomorrow afternoon so it can be looked out. This time the clip appears to be retaining the tonuge, but the hole the clip is fitted into appears rather distorted. I'll let you know how I get on.

No the problem isn't at the back of the seat, it is two clips on the bottom of the swab (the bit you sit on) that hold the front of the seat on the floor. Without them the sponge of the seat means that it doesn't sit flat.

Anyway, local Toyota Garage didn't have the parts on Friday, so the car is fgoing back in next Friday.

Latest update on my problems with the rear seat.

Took car into Toyota Garage two weeks ago and they replaced the clips. Less than 4 hours later the seat was already popping up again :ffs: .

Car had 1st service today (I've done just under 10,000 miles in exact 6 months), so they had another look. It appears that the rear swab is the problem rather than the clips. So a new swab is on order.

Apparently there was a factory recall for some early Aygo with rear seat problems, anybody know of anyone affected?

The seat squab is mounted into some very flimsy metal that may quite easily not have been made to the correct size or bent on manufacture. Hope all is well now
