Starlet 93 Cambelt Gone, Hit Anything?

Hi guys, my mate has a 93/L plate 1.3 Starlet. The cambelt snapped on him this afternon, and needs to know if anythinghits when the belts goes. Or is it just put another belt on and go engine? He was doing about 30 up a hill when it went. reply asap pls. Fanx.

hi bad news could well have damaged valves but only way is to reset all timing marks and fit a new belt .theirs allways a chance he might have got away with it

Ok fanx. do you by any chance know the firing order? i.e. 1234, 1324 etc, so can have a rough idea how many have hit if they have hit. Its a 12 valve engine, so is it 2 inlet, 1 exhaust?

Firing order is 1-3-4-2....good luck :) .

yep 2 inlet 1 exhaust. you may have got away with it but as said only way to tell is chuck a new belt on (cheaper than ripping the engine apart anyway)
