Odometer Set Back To Zero!

I ran an earlier thread about the fuel consumption computer being inaccurate on my 03 Avensis - it over calculated by about 30%. I was advised by others to get it done, and the garage who sold it have changed the 'chip' that does the computing. However, I was surprised to find that apparently by changing this chip it has set my odo' back to zero! (all the same computer apparently!). Mr T say they can't adjust it back to my previous mileage -- has anyone else come across this? Can it be adjusted to read the old mileage?

;)

I had the very same problem and the same solution, although my garage said they had to replace the entire Speedo unit. Resulting in the Odo being set back to zero again. A little annoying, but can deal with it I guess. Might give some issues when I come to sell the car through, since mine was changed under warranty and I did notget any paper work on wor carried out!!!

You can request from the dealer some written evidence to prove everything was above board.
