Illuminated Heater Controls On Corolla

I have just bought a 2001 Corolla 1.6GS and there is no illumination on the heater

controls at night. Is this normal or is there a bulb that needs to be replaced.

If so, is it a DIY job or do you have to take it to a dealer.

Thanks for any advice on this one .

Probably wont help on a new fangled model like yours !!! :D When the illuminations for heater & fan on my 15 y.o. don't click in, a good thump with both fists, simultaneously, on either side of the console works every time .

Warning - don't try this at home............ or when touching the limit on the motorway

Is it me or was this posted elsewhere recently.

Anyway on my Gen 6 celica I replaced the two illumination bulbs and I now have lights. They are the little green type with brown plastic seats, cost about 3 quid each from Mr T.

Easy to change for me, and I am sure there is a pinned topic somewhere, search your car section.
