Steering Rack Movement

Hi all,

I'm now the proud owner of a 2002 Avensis (but it's done a lot of miles). There is movement in the steering rack when observed from above (estimated to be about 7mm) and I wondered whether there should be any and if so what the tolerance is. I can have a go at changing the bushes myself - is it a tricky job?

If anyone could help that'd be great.
