Malfunction Indicator Light

The Malfunction Indicator light illuminated yesterday and has stayed on ever since.

What do i do? Should i panic and get booked into a garage for diagnostics as soon as possible?

The handbook doesn't tell you much about the likely causes.

If we are talking the Orange dash lamp with a little engine on it, best get it looked at by the dealer.

it doesnt have to go to the dealer, lots of independents have specialist equipment. our experience latley, points to the catalyst failure. cat works well enough to pass mot but lambda sensors see the info differently.
