Guys i'm after a bit of help to work out weather one of my dash switches is playing up, or weather it is a normal function.

To help ,your RAV4 needs to be a October 2003 and onwards facelift and has to have manual air/con (twisty heater knobs :) ), it seems the manual air/con was only fitted to the XT3 and Granite models.

This is the dash type....

My question is, when all three switches are pushed on (air/con, recirculate & heater rear window), does your recirculate switch still sick out compared with the other two ?, i've asked my dealer but they didn't know or have a RAV4 to check on their forcourt ;)

This is the switches in question when all turned on....

hope someone can help ...cheers

Good Luck,

Phil.

Hi,

Just went to check my motor to see......

Mine is a 2005 XT3 with same dash as yours, and my switches do exactly the same thing.

What I did notice is that the left and right swithes have a distinct 'click' when you push them in and again when you push them out, but the middle switch is different.

Sometimes switches like the middle ones are used if the item the switch is controlling is meant to reset off when power is removed - typical example USED on the RAV4 is the rear fog, so people don't leave them on permenantly (wish all cars had that!), but also very often the rear heated window (so why that one is not like this here god knows!)

So... conclusion.... your car is normal (well, as normal as mine), but why it is like this, who knows

Cheers,

Hooves

Hi Hooves, i appreciate you taking the time to pop out and have a look at your motor.....so the middle switch stays out when on (good news!), i'll contact my dealer and tell them its no longer a problem....many thanks  .
